Swan Inn Fittleworth by Book-a-bus
James Bell, Barry Holland, Jane Marston Chris Maher, Stephen Cox and Richard Earl met Laurie Dooley at Chichester Cathedral. Laurie got upset as James and Barry sneaked off to the Dolphin & Anchor (to use the toilets) while the bus arrived early. The bus driver was a regular who had previously driven us to Hepworth's brewery, and had been to The Swan Inn on our recommendation. The Swan Inn is an Arun & Adur pub, but I'm sure they won't mind us invading their territory. The ancient order of Frothblowers (a charitable organisation) were formed here in 1924, their motto was 'Lubrication in Moderation' I'll drink to that. Choice at the Swan was Long Man Rising Giant, something else and Timothy Taylor. The something else was a bit watery so most of us opted for the Long Man. The pub itself had been refurbished recently and has rooms, a lovely garden and a barn; perfect for Branch meetings, but it's not one of ours. At 15:00, we walked up to the Fittleworth Gallery to meet the Book-a-bus back to Chi, then it was swiftly into the Dolphin & Anchor for a final pint.
