Laurie Dooley met James Bell, Jane Marston, Stephen Cox at Chi bus station. Richard Earl joined us at Cathedral, but Chris Maher who was due to join us was presumably held up by the traffic management on the South of the railway crossing.

We got off at Heyshott Turning and the first of the day's disasters happened, the book-a-bus to the Forester's turned up 20 minutes late, which meant the next bus to The Three Moles had to be adjusted.

Forester's Arms was lovely, with Langham Hip-Hop and Glide, and Dorking DB One Best (NBSS Very Good).

With the original book-a-bus cancelled, we had fears that the replacement would be trouble, and it was; originally promised for 14:10, it turned up at 14:41 (accident in Chi, so nothing that could be done).

That meant the booked time at Three Moles was compromised; but Three Moles was another lovely pub; Skinner's Betty Stogs (NBSS Very Good), St Austell Tribute, and one we'd not heard of Backfield Bitter.

Also on handpump was Blackmoor Orchards Bridges Green Cider, although we determined this was not real cider.

Leaving time came and the second postponed Book-a-bus came early! so we were classed as 'No Shows'.

Cancelling any offers of another bus in 2 hours time was unquestionable. A brisk walk (and I mean a brisk walk) back to Halfway Bridge and the N°1 bus and then the N°60 meant we got to Chi after 5:00pm, not the original 3:00pm we had hoped for. So, all-in-all a bit of a disaster, never to be repeated I hope.
